Growing up in the Central West End in St. Louis, Missouri, my family were regular shoppers at Straub's Market on Euclid where we could always count on picking up a tub of their delicious fresh made chicken salad. Over fifty years later, we still go back to Straub's for chicken salad when we visit and the recipe hasn't changed. Fresh roasted chicken with celery and scallions tossed in mayonnaise with garlic powder and lemon juice, none of the fancy additions. Add in what you like at home or enjoy it as is on a cracker or a sandwich for a traditional treat that'll be sure to please everyone in your crowd!

We are unlocking the secrets to velvety smooth purees, rich broths, and thick, hearty, chunky soups packed with autumn's harvest.

Our creamy made from scratch crab dip is made using chunks of jumbo lump crab meat seasoned with Old Bay Seasoning, garlic, onion, lemon juice, worcestershire sauce and a touch of sauce. A creamy mixture of mayonnaise, sour cream, cream cheese and cheddar brings the whole dish to hot bubbly perfection in your home. The large portion is a full pound of dip, serving 6-8 people.

This mildly spicy dip in a pan gets heated directly in your oven and and served melty and hot. It is made from Rancho Gordo black beans with garlic, salt, cumin, cinnamon, dark beer and lime juice. It's topped with cheddar cheese and red onion for a melty and crunchy finish. A delicious accompaniment for your party spread! Serves 6.

Summertime calls for a lighter lasagna but we won't give it up! This version uses farm fresh local tomatoes, swiss chard or spinach, white sauce made with ricotta and parmesan plus garlic and nutmeg. Just as comforting (if not more!) as our hearty meat version, but much better on a hot summer day.

A classic macaroni salad and Miss Sallie's favorite, just the right amount of crunch and creaminess for the perfect Jackson County gathering. Made with elbow macaroni noodles, organic celery, bell pepper, carrot and red onion, with mayonnaise, sour cream, and a touch of cider vinegar, mustard and salt and pepper. A bright, light and creamy side that everyone will love!

Our Southern-style macaroni and cheese begins with a milk-and-egg base, which gives the dish a rich, silky taste. The recipe has been passed down for generations, but because of the generous amount of cheese used, the dish was only made for special events. Extra-sharp Cheddar adds tartness and a layer of Colby Jack creates a gooey, molten center. Served with a green salad, a perfect easy dinner that the whole family can enjoy.

A classic Southern picnic style potato salad made with hard boiled egg and a mustard base. What makes this one extra special is the Doux South pickle relish we use to finish it off. Hands down one of the best!
