Growing up in the Central West End in St. Louis, Missouri, my family were regular shoppers at Straub's Market on Euclid where we could always count on picking up a tub of their delicious fresh made chicken salad. Over fifty years later, we still go back to Straub's for chicken salad when we visit and the recipe hasn't changed. Fresh roasted chicken with celery and scallions tossed in mayonnaise with garlic powder and lemon juice, none of the fancy additions. Add in what you like at home or enjoy it as is on a cracker or a sandwich for a traditional treat that'll be sure to please everyone in your crowd!
